Services Program Manager

Position Overview and Responsibilities

The National Instruments Global Services Team has an immediate opening for a Maintenance Services Project Manager. The successful candidate for this position will work with a wide and diverse set of people and resources to manage project schedules and deliverables for large, cross-functional customer projects. The position will be located in Shanghai, China.

In support of these efforts, you will work closely with the following NI personnel:

Solutions Development Team

Services managers and Sales Branches throughout Americas, Asia, and Europe

NI’s Global Maintenance & Hardware Services team

NI Manufacturing in Hungary, China, and Malaysia

NI Sales account managers

Core Job Responsibilities


Project Management

Define schedule, resource needs, and scope management

Ensure deliverables are met according to schedule

Identify and perform risk assessment

Prioritize business and project requirements

Track and report out on project expenses


Work directly with customer to communicate delivery schedules, project plans, etc

Manage global project team members

Communicate project updates to internal stakeholders and external customers

Up to 50% travel required

Position Requirements

Work Experience

Demonstrated success in managing complex global projects; high attention to detail

Experience with cross functional and global teams

Proven success in meeting aggressive deadlines and ability to handle high stress situations

Knowledge, Expertise, and Skills


Bachelors degree in Engineering, Business Management, Information Systems; or equivalent experience

2+ years experience in business analysis and/or project management

Demonstrated success leading and participating in cross-functional teams

Ability to communicate clearly both orally and in writing in various circumstances; strong English skills is a must

Personal fit with culture of NI and the Hardware Services Team


Demonstrated success in managing small teams

Understanding of field service

Prior experience/understanding of NI’s global processes and systems
