Event Specialist

The Event Specialist is accountable for the planning, implementation and reporting of key elements of the overall events program. This includes functioning as the primary project lead on related events. This position requires a detailed, independent thinker that has the ability to collaborate with internal/external stakeholders, build consensus, and drive results with limited supervision.

 

The Event Specialist’s main responsibilities are to develop events strategies according to specific marketing programs, work with stakeholders to identify event goals and objectives, project-manage using in-depth planning and implementation, oversee event execution, and report on the effectiveness of events.

 

The Event Specialist works with technical marketing and media groups, key sales contacts and other organizations to implement and deliver on the event plan tactics.

 

 

Core Accountabilities:

·Manage planning process of different events within specific programs and develop media strategies to ensure the success of the events, including work with internal teams to provide event solutions to meet marketing objectives

·Execute all project management, including but not limited to, analysis of requirements, scoping, functional team handshakes and strategizing activities

·Execute events including seminars, roadshows, tradeshows, 3rd party events, etc, following the strategies and process to meet goals

·Analyze the effectiveness of event use in various marketing campaigns and proactively improve the overall quality of the program

·Demonstrate model work ethic by clearly and concisely communicating work status, issues, requirements, options, and concerns with team members, managers, and other teams

·Understand technical possibilities, restrictions, and limitations and how they can be leveraged or avoided to ensure event success

·Help design team accomplish jobs regarding to the preparation of events stage

 

 

Requirements:

·Ability to handle multiple and complex projects simultaneously under stringent timeframes and changing priorities and conditions

·Ability to create well thought-out plans and strategies and lead cross-functional teams

·Excellent communication skills, including ability to facilitate communication, build consensus among team members, and make decisions confidently

·Creative and innovative approach to work with attention to detail

·Ability to evaluate event data and make strategic recommendations using event reporting tools

·Quick leaner to pick up necessary knowledge and understanding of products, programs and solutions and how an event strategy could be applied to affect customer outcomes.

·Ability to function with little to no supervision, driving projects, reporting results, making recommendations for strategic change

This position requires a college degree in marketing, communications or business administration, three to six years of marketing experience, and three years experience in event marketing. The ideal candidate will also have experience managing an integrated marcom project, including cross-team facilitation and consensus building. Previous experience in a high technology company a plus.
